UPHOLSTERY CLEANING

If you have asthma or allergies, you may benefit from upholstery cleaning. Living with clean furniture can help you breathe easier and have less skin irritation.

B&C Professional Carpet Care & Floor Cleaning explains how to do it yourself.

Ammonia is an excellent cleaner that we often use in homes, and now we are going to explain how to use it also for cleaning sofa upholstery. For example, let’s say we spill some coffee :

1 When there is a stain on the upholstery, we have to clean at least all that piece (cushion, trellis, etc.)  We cannot limit ourselves to cleaning only the stain because we will achieve an inverse effect and create a surround around it.

2 Aspirate. We have to use a powerful vacuum cleaner to remove all the dust and dirt on the upholstery.

3 Ammonia. We will use a cloth (preferably use microfibers) soaking it in a mixture of water and ammonia, and we will rub the entire sucked surface, insisting on where the stain is.

4 Let it dry. We will open the windows and try not to get direct sunlight to achieve uniform drying.

5 Steamer. If once dry, the stain comes out again, we will repeat the steps, but applying steam during step 3 to help hydrate and soften the stain so that it can be removed with the cloth.

Most of the marks and dirt that we find in an upholstery can be cleaned with this procedure, but as always, it is recommended to do a test in an inconspicuous place.

At B&C Professional Carpet Care & Floor Cleaning, we are a family business dedicated to creating happy clients. Our upholstery cleaning is quick, fast, and extremely effective, which is why we have so many satisfied customers in Williamsburg and the surrounding areas.
